A night in the Merchant City and Party at St Lukes
Delegates are invited to spend the evening in Merchant City one of Glasgow’s oldest and most stylish districts. Cafés fill former warehouses and gourmet Scottish, Indian and Mediterranean bistros dot the area, while cocktail lounges and gin bars occupy renovated 18th-century buildings. We will be putting together an excellent guide of where to eat and drink in Glasgow and this will include information on where to go in the Merchant City
Before or after you have eaten join us at St Luke’s and the Winged Ox one of Glasgow’s premier music venues on the outskirts of the Merchant City where we will be holding a congress party that you cannot miss. Our own Kevin Noon has put together an evening to remember with the help of some of the best bands in Glasgow. Kevin is not only a CBT Therapist and co-chair of the congress organising committee he is also a songwriter and musician who has developed a growing reputation in Scotland and abroad as having a unique and distinctive voice with songs that captivate and engage. You can listen to “In the Good Times” written and recorded by Kevin on the homepage of the congress website. It is a celebration of the joy and camaraderie that come with exploring Glasgow’s nightlife which you will be able to experience yourself. If you have not heard Kevin live before this is your opportunity. Kevin will be joined by members of Bedlam from BABCP for a special one off performance during the evening.
Also appearing on stage will be Hugh Reed and the Velvet Underpants who are a one-of-a-kind musical force blending humour, irreverence, and eclectic styles into a truly unforgettable live experience. The group has earned a reputation for their theatrical performances, razor-sharp lyrics, and unapologetically eccentric approach to music.
To complete the line-up, we have After 80’s is a dynamic group dedicated to bringing the timeless sounds of the 1980s—and beyond-to life. Known for their electrifying performances and authentic renditions of classic hits, the band transports audiences back to the golden era of pop, rock, new wave, and more, while also delivering fresh takes on modern favourites inspired by that iconic decade.
